I have dabbled in not eating any animal products for the past few months. I made this decision after reading the blogs and insight of several runners and reading The China Study which my sister sited as the reason she no longer ate meat. At first I was only curious in what the diet might look like; how different it would be; what would one actually eat. But after continuing to eat a "whole foods, plant based" diet I found I felt much better. On days (like today) when I "indulge" in sugar and fried foods and animal products I feel bloated and full and have indigestion, etc. So I'm going to make a big leap and say 2017 is the year I truly try out a plant based diet. [I have already decided to not step on the scale in 2017 as I'm tired of being tied to a number.]
As for running, I'm not planning on doing any races as they're too expensive but I want to run the distances so I think I'll train as if I'm doing the races and run the miles on my own.
