Day 23

I've never stuck to a diet or exercise routine longer than a week. My Fitness pal tells me I'm on a 23 day streak! Woohoo! I'm down 12.2 lbs. My wedding fits, although a little snug. And that little dress in the back off the closet is almost fitting. The will power has kicked in. Counting calories and keeping them at 1200 has gotten quite easy now that I'm at a new low weight. I'm not restricting my diet (except soda and liquor, but it's lent). Though I know if I choose broccoli over potatoes I can eat a whole lot more. On the running front..... well, I ran on day 8 and 9 of dieting and gained weight. Very discouraging. It took a week to get back to losing. Even more discouraging. So I haven't been doing much running. But this weekend I won't have access to a scale so I will start running and avoid weighing in until I'm back in my running routine.
We'll see...

Goals

I turn 30 this year. Another decade older. And I'm feeling it. So what does every almost 30 year old do? Sign up for a half marathon, of course. Right? Especially when said person is 40 or so pounds overweight and whose body has been through seven pregnancies and five c-sections.  Oh, and who up until 11 months ago hadn't run more than a dozen steps at a time.
Eleven months ago, at 8 weeks postpartum, I began the C25k program. At 30 minutes the times a week it seemed doable. I lost no weight but I gained strength, endurance, and confidence. I am up to running six miles now.
I have a 10k scheduled at the end of April. Then my birthday (dun dun duh) in May. And finally my half in October.
Here's to the journey.
