I’ve been pretty quiet on here, just lurking around reading everyone’s progress and racing reports as encouragement though I’ve been running fairly routinely. I only started running 2 years ago after baby #6. Since then I had baby #7 and then decided I really needed to take some weight of so I joined weight watchers and lost 40 lbs or so. In that time I also roped a couple friends into running with me. Some they were new runners we ran intervals and never speed running intervals. Before I lost weight and used intervals I struggled to get to a 10 min mile pace. My friend and I ran a 5k on Saturday and my time was 28:04! FOURTH in my age division! I’m very pleased with my progress and the fact that my friend is now hooked on racing, too. So I’m signing us up for a 10k and I have my eye on 26.2 this year! I’m pretty psyched.
